2001: A Space Odyssey

It was more engaging than I expected it to be! I've never seen the movie so I only know what's trickled into the cultural zeitgeist, which gave me a totally different impression of what the book would be about than what it actually was. I enjoyed this version more than I was expecting to, although without an emotional connection to the book I tend to find the philosophizing in classic sci-fi kind of pointless. It is obviously dated, both in terms of attitudes towards women and the science in it, but I'm glad I read it.
