A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini
5.0

Khaled Hosseini, this man literally made me cry. This is the first book I cried for.

I started rooting for the characters from the beginning itself. The characters experience struggles from their childhood itself. But, while reading we want the characters to go back to the lives they had in their childhood. Struggle after struggle.

All the characters are very well written. I lived in the streets of Afghanistan for the past few days. Khaled took me to Afghanistan. He showed me the beauty of it, just for a while though. The hardships of the people who lived there is what the story is all about.

I felt for the main characters. I felt when they lost an opportunity of freedom, when they lost someone close, or when they finally were able to break the manacles and cry.

This book, I would cherish for a very long time. I'm so happy I read this book. I'm so happy, I'm telling it from the bottom of my heart.
