FINALLY REAL ENEMIES TO LOVERS!!!

This book was so freaking good and a great debut for this series. If you are a fan of Crescent City or The Crowns of Nyaxia series, you’ll love this. It’s dark and gritty with a plethora of magical creatures living in a, somewhat, modern world.

Dianna is a fucking badass. My god. She will kill you in a second and not spare you a second thought. And she is the villain! instead of the helpless damsel. She can be stubborn and brash and impulsive but she does what she wants and I loved that. She could step on me and I would say thank you. 🥲 Liam is a beautiful, tortured god king whose problems I want to fix. 😩🫠 he is perfection. I loved the flashbacks and learning about his past and why he was the way he was. And this is a REAL enemies to lovers. Like, they legitimately try to murder each other several times in the beginning before circumstances force them to have to work together. And watching them go from viscerally hating each other, to slowly becoming friends, to maybe something more, was so beautifully done. Although it happens in the span of one book, it felt so natural given everything that happens.

The pacing of the plot was also great. They are constantly on the move and there are a lot of good action sequences. I will say, the climax with the book felt very anticlimactic to me. They were just in a similar predicament a few chapters before so I had the feeling of “really, again?” In fact, there were quite a few instances where it felt like Dianna was easily taken down and making dumb decisions which annoyed me. But overall it was still really enjoyable. And I’m lowkey in shock about the ending???? Onto the next! 🫡
