I didn't really know what to expect going into the book, but it was interesting! I wished that Jack and August's individual issues had been explored more outside of each other. It didn't feel like there was a resolution to those, which left the ending kind of hollow for me. August's relationships with his friends was honestly really touching to me. I could tell that they wanted to help and be there for him, even if they didn't understand or know how to, which made it even worse when it didn't work out. Also! The notes, photos, ticket stubs, and playlist made the short chapters flow and connect better. The writing style is engaging and easy to slip into.
