This was so disappointing.
The story feels generic, like it’s been done so many times before with not an interesting enough twist. The characters are sort of unique, but all through the book I could not get a connection with any of them. And that is with a good reason. This book is fast paced with constant action. They cannot catch a break, and therefore neither can you. Therefore you can not get to know the characters and learn about their relationships. Some parts just felt like they came out of nowhere, like sea serpents in the desert. You are on a horse… how does a sea creature attack you?
At least red queen had an unique plot and you had some time to get attached to the characters. This was not it.
