Judas by Jeff Loveness

4.0

The comic follows Judas after he hangs himself and descends into hell.

I was raised fundamental christian and have spent half my life unpacking the trauma of it. I was worried about reading this because of it but I truly am glad I did.
I have related to Judas a lot in my life. A lot of the themes of the stories are debates I've already had.
They were done thoughtfully and accompanied by some of the most gorgeous art I've seen.

The feeling of being trapped in a preordained story is something I've struggled with and I felt like it was handled well in the story.

My feelings do not align perfectly with this comic. I felt it ended on a note I did not really agree with. But that it was worth reading in the end. It was worth reading a thoughtfully written story about the man who was wrote to kill the son of god
