I am on a role with books lately! If you get one thing out of this review, it's this: READ THIS BOOK!!!!!

How do I express the perfection of Legendborn?? There's action, adventure, fantastical magic based around Arthurian legend, a badass heroine, a swoony love interest, phenomenal world-building. I cannot think of a single thing that I didn't enjoy.

Bree has experienced so much trauma, both in the form of a loss and the racism and judgment that comes with being a black girl. Her character growth is impeccable and seeing her journey to connect with her past was so powerful. I can't wait to see how much more she grows in the next book!

So, all in all, this book is an amazing fantasy with some very important messages for people everywhere. If you're not a fan on heavy world-building, this may not be for you, but if you like complex fantasy worlds and action-packed storylines, give this amazing debut book a chance.

⚠️: loss of a parent, grief, depictions of slavery and abuse, intergenerational trauma, racism, death and violence
