Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery

5.0

‘Dear old world', she murmured, 'you are lovely and I am glad to be alive in you’.

I absolutely loved this book. Anne might be one of my most favourite fictional character. She is witty, positive, energetic and just down right lovely. She is perfect to read during a pandemic as it really is impossible to feel sad when reading about Anne.

Orphan Anne has a rough start in life, she is adopted unintentionally by Matthew & Marilla who were actually looking for a bit to help with the work. However they quickly fall for Anne who becomes Anne of Green Gables and spends the rest of her childhood with them.

Reading about Anne growing up and the mischief she gets into had me laughing out loud in places, she is just wonderful.

I urge everyone to pick up this book.
