This is my second favourite in the Brutal Birthright series, after BRUTAL PRINCE. I feel like this really picked up after the 60% mark and that was the best part of the book for me. Before that I wasn't feeling the mafia or the romance vibes, but after that I was feeling both, which I loved. There were some parts that had me on the edge of my seat worrying about the well-being of Dante and Simone. There was some cringey insta-love in this and I didn't like how the writing changed in Simone's POV in the first 40% of the book. But I'm looking forward to finishing out this series.
Moderate: Chronic illness, Death, Rape, Suicidal thoughts, Trafficking, Kidnapping, Death of parent, Murder
Minor: Drug use
