Rescuing Casey by Susan Stoker
5.0
This is one of my favourites across all of Susan Stoker's 'verses. I think that it touches on many elements that just appeal to me. There is a hint of '... Fiona', which I also really like in it... Casey is strong throughout and doesn't do anything that makes her TSTL. I liked the twist on the villain... although it was apparent what was going on, it made sense and didn't spoil the read for me.
Beatle is just a down to earth good bloke. No manwhoring alpha arse-ishness about him, at all! Love Truck too... I know Mary has a reason for her behaviour... but Truck is just sooo good. Am not sure if I am going to re-read that one at the moment.
I have read this several times... this review was written on the current read 21/08/20
One other thing... all of these books are marked as stand-alone reads... but all of the other characters are present and you kind of need to know their back-stories to understand behaviours/motives... I guess if you're not bothered about what happened to Emily & Annie... or Rayne... or Kassie... or, well you get my drift... you can forget they exist, but for me... I need to know things like why Annie knows why she has to react if she is told the word 'red'... ah well, mebbe that is just me...
16/07/21 I think that this might be favourite in this series... although I really do love Fletch's tale too... mmm, must go and re-read that too. Casey is just brillo. Beatle is too. I think I would've liked a little more expansion on the aftermath... but, hey-ho... still a happy reader!
