First of all, I didn't know it was a trilogy?!! I thought it was a duology and that the second book would wrap things up, but no, it continues to the next one.

Well, I had lowered my expectations for this one since I didn't really like the first book. It turns out that this cute-covered book disappointed me again. This book has only 200+ pages, but it's super slow and it took me a lot of time to keep reading it without DNF-ing. For almost 60% of the book, the plot just goes back and forth with Winnie going around the town. Then, it starts to pick up around the forest scene. I liked the atmosphere when she and the others were hunting those strange creatures, it was immaculately magical. Also with some puzzles finally came together even though they were predictable to me, they were still good. So actually, the plot started to interest me only in the last 40%, until the ending; other than that, it was bland.

Regarding the romance, the author finally included some, but there was little chemistry between the characters. At least the moments I had been waiting for since book 1 paid off here. The ending was okay, and it really piqued my curiosity.

Overall, I didn't enjoy it as much as I wanted to. I really hoped for some development, but I found very little. I planned to stop at book 2, but with so many secrets still unrevealed, maybe I will give the third book one last chance.
