Teleny, or the Reverse of the Medal by Oscar Wilde
3.0
sheesh
i hated this but also loved it, therefore I think it's valid to rate it decently.
this book made me respond viscerally and sometimes out loud. it was VERY explicit, and there's a serious twist at the end that made me gasp but also felt a little contrived...
i'll applaud the writing for it's attention to detail, it did not cut corners, especially at the explicit scenes....
I can't say how realistic this book's depiction of gay culture was at the time. assuming it was mostly based on reality, I found learning about it very interesting.
