Beastly Bones by William Ritter

In my opinion, this series has hit its stride with this second book. The central case brings Abigail's paleontology smarts together with Jackaby's sight and knowledge, and culminates in a high-action climax. Chameleomorphs are also such a fantastic concept to begin with.

Lovely message about Abigail getting to "choose both" (a career and a man - hello Charlie, I'm glad you're still featuring in the story). On the other hand, I love Nellie Fuller and am
sorely disappointed she gets killed off
.

I couldn't tell at first where Jenny's arc was headed, but now I'm really excited that her case will be tackled next, and super proud of her for crossing that mental bridge.
