The Ruby Circle
by Richelle Mead
Brilliant. Just an absolutely brilliant conclusion to this series. I fell in love with this world from the very first page of Vampire Academy, & then once I heard saw that Richelle was writing another series in this world, Bloodlines, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on all of the books. Of course, I had to wait each year to read the next one. I think there was a part of me putting off reading Ruby Circle because I knew that this would be the end. Thankfully, in the acknowledgments, Richelle hinted that there would be more books set in this world. I am very excited about that because I seriously love every second of this world.
I really loved the way that this novel progressed. The obstacles that Sydney & Adrian had to face on their journey to find Jill. I’m really glad that Richelle didn’t just make one obstacle that they had to face & that was it. She really created a challenge that was worth it to finally be with Jill again. I loved that this story tied up loose ends as well as throwing in a few curveballs to blow our minds. I loved every minute of it, but I think i read it so slowly because I didn’t want to finish it, even though I wanted to know what happened.
As always Sydney & Adrian are just perfect. I don’t think there would ever be a time where I didn’t utterly adore them. Even in the Vampire Academy series, I loved Adrian & I loved Sydney for the time she was in it. I love that they are a pair that is definitely stronger together but can still hold their own apart. The love they share is true & is what dreams are made of. I really adore that they are willing to fight everything in order to have the life they dream of. I love that they don’t just wait for life to happen, but they actively make sure they fight for everything they want.
If there was no hint of more books in this world, I think I would have the biggest book hangover because this has become one of my favorite worlds. They characters that have been created are just amazing & I look forward to seeing them again or maybe meeting new ones.
