Put Me in Detention
by Meghan Quinn
Put Me in Detention is a standalone book among a few more Romantic Comedy’s. There are four founding members in the “Ladies in Heat Book Club. They are Cora, Greer, Stella and Keiko. These are the ladies that these stories are centered around.
See Me After Class was the first book and was Greer Gibson & Arlo Turner’s story. Next was Earn Your Extra Credit and was Stella Garcia and Brock Romero’s story. And this is Put Me in Detention and is Cora Turner and Pike Grayson’s story and maybe Keiko’s story too. I am not sure if she will get her own book.
Cora is in Vegas to celebrate her “divorce” and Pike happens to be in Vegas too. Cora has been attracted to Pike since he started teaching at the high school. They ended up getting drunk and married in Vegas only “what happens in Vegas” doesn’t always get to stay in Vegas. Pike teaches at Forest Heights High School. The same school that Arlo, Greer, Stella and Keiko teach.
I absolutely love Keiko and I loved it when she called Cora a “nitwit”. Keiko reminds me a bit of my niece with her stilted and brilliant conversations. It tore me apart when she was so open with Pike about being friends.
Pike was a truly nice guy! I loved him! Cora was a bit mean at first because she didn’t want to be married again.
Meghan Quinn is such a master at pulling out emotions from this reader. I laughed, was tearful and then laughed some more!
I was fortunate enough to have received an audio copy to review and it was such a delight to listen to Narrators Vanessa Edwin and John Hartley. I listen to most of my books via the text to speech feature on my Kindle. So it was great to be able to listen to this book, with actual live narrators! Put Me in Detention was even more enjoyable as an audible book!
I think the next book for Meghan Quinn is The Reunion and we got a little taste of it with the Novella The One Night. Let’s just say I am looking forward to reading her next book! In the meantime I give 5 stars for Put Me in Detention!
