I read this based off a friend’s recommendation (who read it based of BookTok recommendations). I was already aware of the semi-incestuous (or is it quasi-incestuous?) romance in the book and thought I could handle it but after reading it all go down, I can safely say I was not prepared. I absolutely hated Jake and couldn’t wrap my head around the way his relationship with Tiernan was framed as both familial and protective but also sexual like when she calls him uncle during sex .
Consent is a big issue in this book so if you’re triggered by dubious consent, I wouldn’t recommend this book. If you’re into porn without a plot, as well as dark themes like taboo romances, you’ll probably enjoy this book.
