First things first - this is a mislabeled book. It's marketed as a crime thriller, and a crime thriller it is not. There is a crime, there is a mystery and there is even a twist at the very end - an unexpected one, I must say.

But ultimately it's a somewhat slowly-paced book about family history, depression, struggle to find oneself, with a murder as a backdrop. As such, it's a exceptionally narrated book with a great setting and partially unexpected ending. The happily-ever-after part is obvious nearly from the start, whodunnit part genuinely surprised me.
