The 3 books of Absolution are wildly different experiments in writing. A stunning versatility. Don’t be put off by reviewers bouncing off fucking book fucking 3: reader, open yourself to a barely coherent dirtbag descending into madness. I didn’t come away with pat answers to Area X, but reconsideration for events throughout the Southern Reach and an uneasy closure.
