This was amazing. The only thing that brought it down from a full 5 stars was that the ending was somewhat unsatisfying after an amazingly written story.
If you are looking for a thriller then I don't think this is for you, there is certainly a mystery that gets unravelled but it's more about the social themes of a bi-racial family living in America and the trauma that we can inadvertently pass on to our children.
I listened to this on audio on a particularly long car journey (there and back) which was perfect to immerse myself in the story - I do think that I may have struggled to stay engaged if I were just reading a couple of page here and there.
