I was really worried that the hype wouldn’t live up to the book and I was wrong. This story is what I would love to see more in retelling. It took the story of Cinderella and made that the backbone of this whole world; it was really impressive because it felt original while having an inspiration. Bayron’s writing may look average on the outside but honestly has a nice descriptive inside that hooks you without being too flowery. The pace of the novel was perfect and I personally didn’t feel like the speed was too fast or too slow, it was a perfect mix of steady. I do want to say that the plot twist at the end wasn’t necessary and I didn’t feel like it added anything. I personally felt like it was a second thought. Other than that, I would recommend this to someone who wants to get into fantasy because of how nice and steady it is and how it is easy yet still fun to read.
