War Girl Lotte by Marion Kummerow

4.0

Heartbreaking read about an impulsive 17 year old girl named Lotte (Charlotte) who tries to do the right thing. But doesn't think things through. Her rash decision to help a young Jewish friend during WW2 in Germany sets off a horrible chain of events. It's a fast read about being a teen and what growing up during that time (especially when you opposed the Nazi's) was like.
Lotte finds her strength and learns a painful lesson.
It's a sad but meaningful coming of age book.
