After finishing this book I now like the second book more than when I first finished it. Buy I’m not changing my rating because of the frustration I felt after reading it.
The books aren’t predictable and don’t follow the expected format of heroes win out and all or a lot is good with the world. The author’s world is a really messed up place.
I learned something new after reading this series and looking up some reviews. “Progression fantasy”.
Nope. This ain’t it.
And then I learned something else new. “Grimdark fantasy”.
Ok. I see that.
Sorry. That’s all you get! I will be reading the next book which is a standalone one, “Best Served Cold”.
