Delta of Venus by Anaïs Nin
3.0
These erotic tales dive deep into the depths of desire, making incredibly concise observations about female sexuality. Knowing the context of these texts (as explained in her diary) I don’t know exactly how to approach some of the topics discussed. It is clear that she wanted to write things to be shocking and uncomfortable and maybe challenging. Despite that Nins sensual and passionate style of prose is undeniably captivating.
Groundbreaking discussions of queer and intersex people.
However personally I still got bored after reading around 2/3 of this book, because after a while I found it a little repetitive. Still, an unapologetic embrace of desire.
