Lies, Lies, Lies
by Adele Parks
*Major Spoilers* I don't even know the word I want to use to describe this book. Started off pretty simple, Daisy is married to Simon who is an alcoholic, he wants one more child but finds out he's shooting blanks. They already have 1 daughter Millie. Then it goes up a notch. His alcohol drinking gets worse and worse, one night at a party they leave and he drives (drunk) and hits his daughter. Fast forward and Simon is in jail, Daisy has taken care of the daughter the whole time through her recovery and so on, Daryll who you meet earlier at the party is an old friend. He assumes Millie is his daughter, and with what the doctor said in the beginning about Simon not being able to have anymore children you assume Daisy had an affair. It doesn't lead on to make him a bad guy, cocky yes. THEN YOUR MIND WILL BE BLOWN. The last 40 pages I couldn't stop readying! Daryll raped Daisy all those years ago, now he is raping and controlling her again. There is a very scary scene where he throws poor Millie's kitten against the wall and kills it, then beats Daisy. In the end Simon gets out of jail and kills Daryll. They slowly start to work on their marriage.
AND you fibd out Simon was all along actually Millie's dad. Loved this book.
