Howards End by E.M. Forster

3.0

i think i've been reading this for several months. and my enjoyment definitely suffered from being stretched out to a half-chapter a shift and i didn't laugh as much as the others and i'm a bit surprised wikipedia calls it his Masterpiece over maurice and room with a view and passage to india (i haven't read the others, well so) (yet) but there are definitely things in here. and he is such a beautiful writer. i also didn't really like either margaret or helen as characters, or henry or mrs wilcox or actually anybody except leonard bast and tibby (and tom. Please?) so that maybe was a problem, but actually when i think about it now i don't know that i've really liked any of the central characters very much, well that's not true i liked maurice and durham and i liked aziz, but lucy and mrs moore are all a bit dull, they're not really the important ones they're more figureheads so that E.M. can warble on about other things (complimentary) and the side characters are much more fun. actually i don't know so maybe that's a lie. they're ok
