This book had me in the first half. Or first third. This book was sad in a way that felt like it was sad just for the sake of being sad. Ann was delusional, we never really get to know Wade so his disease is not as sad as it felt like it should have been, and we get these glimpses of other people who have sad lives for almost no reason.
