I am continuing to enjoy this series! This volume is a fantastic continuation of the first, diving deeper into the laws of this world and the history that led to this society’s battle over books. The extra world-building really helps flesh out the stakes, making the Library Defense Force’s mission feel even more urgent and important.
One of my favorite parts of this volume is the additional backstory for our two main characters, Iku and Dojo. Learning more about their pasts makes me like them both even more! Their history is just too cute, and the fact that one remembers their past meeting while the other has forgotten creates such an adorable tension between them. Every little hint at the truth makes me even more excited to see how it all unfolds.
The mix of action, romance, and social commentary continues to be spot-on, and I can’t wait to read the next installment! If you love books about books (and the people willing to fight for them), this series is a must-read.
