I wasn't much convinced at first, but it gets really good the more you read. I can definitely understand why Baum is seen as a feminist, and for the time when he wrote these books he made a really great portrayal of women.
I love how much is said implicitly about the characters, just like in the previous book : for instance, one is lead to understand that Tip, just like Dorothy, may be the leader of the group, he is far from being flawless, and has much to learn from the other characters.
