mcmoon 's review for:
Friends, Lovers, Chocolate
by Alexander McCall Smith
A cozy mystery with a charming philosopher protagonist in her forties. This book is a lovely read, full of interesting observations about human nature. The characters are great, and it made me reflect on the power that our daily conversations have in shaping who we become morally and ethically. A character driven story. The plot seems most relevant as evidence for the philosophical point the author seems to be making. Isabel, the book's lead, is one of my favorite literary detectives.
