This novel is entertaining, and an excellent exploration of the world Anthony developed in the 6 previous. I would nearly have given it 5 stars if not for two factors. 1) the depiction of "male lust" throughout. It is presented again and again that male lust is a terrible force that takes an enormous amount of control to keep in check. Men are practically lauded for *not being rapists*.
And the second factor:a good portion of this novel is an argument for the acceptability of relationships between adult men and teen girls. If Vita had even been of a legal age this novel might not suffer as it does. Instead Anthony goes to great lengths as to convince the audience of the legitimacy of such an affair.
While I do find Anthony's philosophical ideas compelling, he, again and again, shoots himself in the foot with his gross beliefs about women, girls, and worst of all, men. (In that they should be celebrated for not being rapists and cannot be blamed for things they do in the pursuit of the satisfaction of their lust).

Moderate: Pedophilia, Rape
