Stephanie Archer, the woman that you are!! This book had me gripped from the very beginning, and it is one that I will read again and again.
I have loved this series from the very beginning, and I have fallen in love with every single character and couple. However, Alexei and Georgia may be my favorite.
First, there was some serious loathing in this book. The couple truly could not stand each other at first and had some amazingly good banter. Throughout the book, the waning of their hatred for each other felt so natural. It wasn't only the forced proximity that led them to develop feelings; they also began learning about each other and coming to realize that their previous conceptions were incorrect (in turn, this also really helped me to learn about each character, which only charmed me more). This led to some adorable moments, and it felt like the couple was building a solid foundation.
In addition to all these cute moments ... the spice?!?! Woooooow. While there were plenty of intense and passionate moments, the sweet and loving moments were just as entertaining.
While I loved every aspect of this book, I found myself falling more and more for each character through their day-to-day activities. In addition to all the big, love-filled, grand-gesture moments throughout the book, the characters really shone in the smaller moments. Quiet nights watching TV, cooking meals, flower deliveries, coaching sessions, and car rides... it's in these moments that the characters truly fell in love.
Honestly, I'm struggling to continue writing this review because nothing I write will even come close to capturing how much I loved this book. So, you'll have to read the book to see its amazingness for yourself!! 😉
Tropes:
- Marriage of convenience
- Loathe to love
- Hockey player x team doctor
- One bed
- Unique love language
- Surprise tattoo
- Forced proximity
- Third act breakup
- 4 spice
