This Book 2 in Susanna's Shapeshifters of the Beau Monde Series.

In this book, we follow Arthur, whose cousin has decided to play matchmaker and insists he marries Beatrice. Arthur and Beatrice's aren't all that fond of the idea...

What a book... I mean, Susanna is a cracking writer. I love how she mixes Regency Fiction with Shifter Romance in such a way you'd you were reading something written from the period.

The language and format of the sentences mirror that of the period, and so as I expected this, I didn't have any issues in jumping straight in!

I adore how Susanna creates her characters and develops them. In each book so far, we see the 2 main characters develop in some way or another.

In this story, we see how Arthur comes to terms with becoming an Alfa and how Beatrice realises that not all Shifter men are the same... (I'm saying no more!)

The story begins quite sad as we learn about the histories of both of these characters... in fact, the very first chapter was incredibly sad to me, and you could see how this shaped a young Arthur into who he was as an adult.

Beatrice has an equally sad past, and I loved how this shaped her into a very strong-minded woman.

This a fantastic story of love, loss, and finding yourself.

It is an absolutely fantastic book and I found it an enjoyable read.

Highly recommend, and I can't wait to read Book 3!
