I adore the Maxton Hall series, and Save You is the perfect follow up to book number one, Save Me. We immediately fall back into the dramatic world of Ruby, James, their families and their Maxton Hall friends.

Save You opens right after the first book ended. James and Lydia‘s mother is gone, their father betrayed them, and James is unraveling. James broke Ruby’s heart at the end of book one, and she vows never to forgive him.

Just like in Save Me, I was completely drawn into the world of Maxton Hall, with all of the ups and downs, drama, heartbreak, love, and betrayal. I could not put this book down, and every chapter revealed more and more scandalous events. Throughout this book, the reader sees so much emotional intensity in both Ruby and James, and in their relationship. Their relationship is complex and also fragile.

We get to know Ruby and James’ families better in this book, and Lydia becomes an important character. The tumultuous nature of these characters’ lives draws the reader in and the story does not let go until the last page. I thoroughly enjoyed the second installment of the Maxton Hall series, and I can’t wait to see what the finale will bring Ruby, James and Lydia. I am completely invested in their lives, and I’m hoping for happy endings for all of them.

Thank you to Berkley Romance, Mona Kasten, and NetGalley for an advance reader's copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
