The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss

ALL MY STARS. Not kidding, it has been such a long time since I read a book like this; a story that starts slow and beautiful and then, before you realize, it has integrated in to the very marrow of your bones, filled the depths of your mind and in the quiet moments of your day, you find yourself thinking of him: "What will Kvothe do? What will become of him? How will he endure?" It's not that there haven't been other books that gripped me, my eyes unwilling to leave the pages, but the difference here was that I WAS able to put the book down, I just wasn't able to remove the story from my thoughts.

Permit me to sound like a broken record and repeat the praise already heaped upon this novel. The writing is stunning, at times tense and suspenseful, at times like a beautiful song of woe pulling at your heart strings, always captivating and intricate. The story itself pulls you in, drawing you close to Kvothe, allowing you to fall in love with him of your own free will, complete with all his strengths and flaws.

I've already dived right into the next book of the series, the full 1000 pages feeling as daunting as stepping into the next phase of Kvothe's life. What trials and tribulations await us who journey by his side...
