Sloane, a widow for years who wasn’t eager to find love again. When assigned to a work project with Dominic, her late husband’s best friend, feelings can no longer be masked. They go from saying they’ve always hated one another to falling in love. Scared of other opinions based on their dynamic, they kept quiet for a majority of the relationship. Meanwhile, self sabotaging in so many ways.
Granted, we were left with many unanswered questions. Also, great sex scenes. I feel as if the book dragged a bit midway. I lost interest a bit. I would have loved to have known more about Dominic’s family life. Aside, from his dad being a drunken, abusive man. Or…why did Sloane and Dominic leave many things unsaid? Yet, they end up engaged with a home. All in all, J.L. Seggars done her thang! I can’t wait to read the other books!
