The Good Luck Girls

Finished this on audiobook and im thinking 3.5 stars

This was classified as young adult western fantasy. I thought it was a creative idea/issue that was in the book. I think the author did a very good idea of filling us in on the backstory of society at this time and the individuals in the story so I didn’t feel lost, I also though the author managed a sensitive story for some very difficult aspects of the storyline around the Welcome House (bordello) that the five young women are escaping from and the circumstances that brought them there in the first place.

Even though they were fantastical elements it was still believable. I liked the relationships that built between the characters who are on the run and have to make some very difficult decisions as well as find ways to resource their journey.

I didn’t feel that the ending was as satisfying for me…but it wasn’t bad. That could possibly be because there’s a sequel. But it left me hanging a bit.

But overall I thought it was enjoyable as an audiobook. It kept my interest all the way through.
