A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
4.0
This book is obviously very popular through #BookTok and I can see why.
I chose to listen to the dramatized audiobook for the first half to get an understanding of the characters' names and world-building. 10/10 recommend this. I loved the music, the additional sound effects, and having a voice for each character. If they weren't so damn expensive, I'd listen to the entire book on audio.
The plotline is compared to Beauty and The Beast and while I can see similarities, that's a loose comparison. Not a critique, just an observation.
Obviously, #BookTok spoiled the storyline a bit for me, but without knowing much I spent most of the book loving Tamlin and hating Rhysand. I do enjoy Feyre as a character, but to be honest I'm more interested in Nesta. I think the ACOTAR cult on Booktok made this book more appealing than it turned out to be, and while I give it 4 stars, I am more excited for ACOMAF.
