I’m so glad I kept going with this because book because the first hundred or so pages were a little hard to get through but I ended up really loving it. The character of Stevens is actually kind of funny (maybe unintentionally?) and it was interesting to see his realisations and regrets throughout the book. It is kind of trying in the beginning because there’s a lot of stuff that gets written about that you’re just like “okay and…?” but then it becomes kind of addictive and way more engaging. The ending was pretty sad but also hopeful at the same time.
