Hell Is Empty
by Craig Johnson
I'm fine. It's one thirty on a work night and I'm awake and crying and I don't even know why. But I'm fine.
It's a fairly straightforward allegory of of Dante's Inferno. In the hands of a guy who writes western mysteries. It shouldn't be this good. But it is. Maybe my affection for the series is blinding me to any faults, but it's GOOD. Even the parts that shouldn't be good are good.
It could have used more Vic, though.
I'm going to get a t-shirt made with that. NEEDS MORE VIC and then I'll really be the crazy librarian.
