This book was good (4 stars) but, in my opinion, the 'worst' book in the series (the trilogy, excluding the prequel). It was more predictable, slower paced, and, while I get this is young adult and therefore more 'juvenile', the main character seemed to always miss painfully obvious suspects and truths, which were then disguised as twists or shocking reveals for the reader 20-30 pages later.
I did like seeing the reality behind the main characters struggles with ptsd, addiction and anxiety after the results of the last novel, as it is something we rarely get from books even when the character has been through hell and back, though I can't say whether the representation is actually good as a person who has never suffered through ptsd or addictions.
This series definitely could have stopped after book 2, had the second one been expanded only a little to give us some closure and see how pip deals with her trauma, though despite this I liked the book and the series enough and would recommend it to people who enjoy the mystery/young adult genres.
