Honestly i really loved it the plot reminded me of a darker Life is Strange 2 which i loved. McCarthys prose and style is so unconventional and it entirely works for the points hes trying to make it was so interesting to analyse as i was reading it and i saw an article that speculated the character of the father in some ways represented McCarthy being scared he would be unable to provide for his son being a new father at the time which i feel makes it so much more meaningful when looking at the book from this perspective with the ending that he chose to give.
My only Qualms were the repetitiveness and overall lack of plot direction , I also think it wouldve been interesting to further explore the bloodcults Mccarthy vaguely mentions at points in the novel but thats a super small thing.
Overall i found it to be a really interesting and enjoyable read exploring the morality of survival within a post apocalyptic environment
