This is what they say it is.
The plot had so much potential but the poor execution is it's downfall. It could have been a solid 4-5 star review with the intended audience I'm mind if Yarros just focused on early fantasy or younger YA readers. Her (awful attempt at) spice and the excessive use of the word (f)duck slots this book into a new adult category that it just doesn't have the quality of writing to satisfy higher level readers.
