As Good As Dead
by Holly Jackson
I would give this a 5 star rating if it were a stand-alone novel, but it isn't. Pip's character was completely stripped away, going from the strong female main character to somebody who cowered at every challenge and was always giving up. This isn't the Pip I've grown to love throughout the series. Plus, the lack of mystery in this book separated it from the others as well, though the stalker bits sorta made up for that. Pip pushed everyone away, poor Ravi. He was the only reason she didn't give up constantly throughout this book so she gave him up. Ending pissed me off, super unsatisfactory, but it was intended to be that way so I can't take points off for that. And Jason Bell.... PIP MURDERED HIM?!? What I don't get is how traumatized Pip was from Stanley's death, but she felt almost no guilt from murdering Jason, whether it be an act of vigilantism / overkill self defense or not. Was excited for this book and it let me down.
