Did not finish book. Stopped at 8%.
I can't do it. This was my third attempt and I officially give up. If anything this helped me to get to know my tastes better. I know now that I can't stand too many characters being introduced in a short period of time.
The story alternates between a East chapter and a West chapter. The West chapters were terrible. I felt like I was getting too much information that I didn't care for since I had no time to get to know anyone yet. The consequence is that I didn't retain any information. The East chapters were a little better given that there were fewer characters to pay attention to, but the plot seemed a bit cliché and the characters didn't grab me enough to continue just for those chapters.
I have no patience to struggle with a hobby at this point in my life. I need books to get me invested in the story and characters from the start and this was not that.
