This is how you do an enemies to lovers book. I believed that Addie truely hated Zade with every fiber of her being, how could you not. He needed to win her over and burn was very slow. The spice was intense between them and I would agree with a lot of reviews that call it SA over CNC at times.

I loved the spooky nature of this book and the thriller elements at the beginning before you got to know Zade. I loved the sub-plot of her Grandmothers murder case. Did I find the plot predictable, yes, but I didn’t mind so much as it was so well written.

My only beef was Zade’s inner monologue. I could have done with less “oh my mouse is perfect” lines and metaphors. We get it, move on.

Would I recommend it? Yes and no. I think only to people immune to violence in literature like I am or those who can separate literature from life. This book is intense and not for everyone. It makes me wonder what Hunting Adeline will be like as the violence and trigger warnings are worse. We shall see.
