Split Tooth
by Tanya Tagaq
I certainly don’t regret reading this book but it was a hard read. Part poetry, part memoir, part supernatural fiction... lots going on and at times I was lost. Maybe I’m just not one for allegory.
The poetry alone, however? Now THAT is worthy of full stars. I so appreciate Tanya Tagaq for sharing the hidden pieces of what life can be like for Aboriginal youth in Northern Canada.
