Camera Shy by Kay Cove

Less of a book and more like a mirror that gives you a pep talk

At the risk of sounding like one of those recipe sites that make you slough through their life story before getting to the good stuff; Camera Shy really resonated with me. I’m currently staring down the barrel of divorce and, although I know what I have to do, I’m anxious. I’m still anxious, naturally, but after reading this book I’ve gained hope that I’ll find what I need on the other side of this. I can say with confidence now that I’d rather die alone than be with a cheating, lying, wisp of a partner who just brings me down with him.

I got back into reading 76 days ago. This is the 89th book I’ve read and it is by far my favorite. The spiciness is well written, poignant, and inspiring. The same can be said for the plot. It’s a must-read if you’ve ever had a shitty relationship of any nature but been in too deep to see the forest for the trees. It’s a must-read anyway because everyone could use something to remind them to seek out what they deserve and never settle for less.

I hope I’m not laying it on too thick but Kay Cove is a fantastic writer and I hope I’m eventually able to evoke in someone even a fraction of the awakening she has in me.
