Seldom that I read a book that so effortlessly lives up to its description on the blurb as a “masterpiece”, but I have no doubt that this was so. Marquez’ prose is so eloquent, and his ability to describe the mundane in such uniquely rich detail is something to behold. I have caught the magical realism bug, to be sure.
