I remember Mandanna's previous witchy book entertaining me with quirky characters, but this one is not hitting right for me. The children characters annoy me. While I do think there lies a charming redemption arc for Sera and her magic, this book is not for me, at least not right now. I listened to almost the first two hours of the audiobook, and perhaps another time will find me revisiting it.
