Normal People by Sally Rooney

5.0

It is so difficult to find a realistic love story. The most realistic ones aren't "romances" at all, but the stories of normal people whose lives cross at both opportune and inopportune times, with feelings that ebb and flow. Connell and Marianne's story proves just what goes into relationships that are real, difficult, and complex. We learn about traumas and their impact on the complicated futures that come of them. This isn't a heartwarming read, and to be honest, it's not exactly a love story. It's a realistic story about normal people.
